We welcome emerging and established writers to submit their unpublished work for consideration to Stone Quarterly. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ writers are strongly encouraged. Editorial calendar follows the general guidelines below.
General Guidelines
Please allow 2-3 months for a response, although we hope to reply sooner than later. If you have not received a response after three months, please email the editor and include in the subject line: Submission Inquiry: Last Name
Poetry
Submit 3-5 of your best, unpublished poems. Single-space your lines, double space between stanzas. 12 point, Times New Roman.
Fiction
Submit one unpublished story at a time. A minimum of 500 words to maximum of 8,000 words. Double-space. 12 point, Times New Roman. Please do not send genre pieces (romance, horror, science fiction, mystery).
Essay
Submit one unpublished essay. Creative nonfiction, personal and memoir, hybrid and the unusual are encouraged. Double-spaced preferred, 12 point font, Times New Roman.
Commentary & Review
We are most interested in both historical and trending commentary on the arts and humanities; book reviews for recently published books, chapbooks, monographs, et al. Double-space, 12 point font, Times New Roman.
